FlowType ('we', 'our', or 'us') respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. FlowType is a voice-first custom keyboard and dictation application designed to convert spoken audio into formatted text.

1. Information We Process & Collect

FlowType is designed with a privacy-first architecture. We collect and process minimal data strictly necessary to deliver speech-to-text dictation and text formatting.

A. Voice & Audio Data

When you activate dictation in FlowType, your device microphone records your spoken audio. Audio recordings are transmitted securely via HTTPS with TLS encryption to our AI processing partner (Groq Inc.) using Whisper models (Whisper-3-large-turbo) for speech recognition and LLM models (gpt-oss series) for automatic punctuation, formatting, and language translation.

<aside> 🔒 Ephemeral Processing & No AI Training: Audio recordings and voice data are processed ephemerally solely to generate the formatted text transcript requested by you. Your audio data is deleted immediately after processing and is NEVER stored permanently on remote servers, nor is it ever used to train public AI models.

B. Local Device Storage

Transcripts, custom dictionary terms, text snippets, and user preferences are saved strictly locally on your device in an encrypted local database (SQLite). We do not maintain central cloud databases storing your personal dictation history.

C. Subscriptions & Billing Data

In-app subscriptions ('FlowType Pro') are processed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store and managed securely via RevenueCat. RevenueCat processes anonymous, random installation tokens to verify your active subscription status. FlowType does not collect, access, or store credit card numbers or billing details.

D. No User Tracking or Analytics

FlowType does NOT use advertising networks, tracking cookies, or third-party behavioral analytics services. We do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not sell user data to third parties.
